The Government of India celebrates the Har Ghar Tiranga festival across the country in which all the citizens of the country participate and hoist the national flag at their homes. Keeping this in mind, the Government of India has started the Har Ghar Tiranga portal. In which citizens can upload selfies of hoisting the flag at their homes. Citizens who upload selfies will be provided a digital certificate by the Government of India.

Har Ghar Tiranga 2025 Registration Process

  • First of all you have to go to the website Harghartiranga.com and register yourself.
  • To register, first you have to select your name, mobile number and state.
  • After that you have to select the option of Click a Selfie.
  • Now you have to upload and download the certificate.

Salient features of Indian Flag Code 2002

  • The Flag Code of India, 2002 was amended vide order dated December 30, 2021 and allowed the national flag to be made of polyester or machine-made. Now the national flag will be made of hand-spun and hand-woven or machine-made cotton, polyester, woolen or silk khadi flags.
  • Any member of a public, private organisation or educational institution may hoist/display the National Flag on all days and occasions, ceremonially or otherwise, consistent with the dignity and respect for the National Flag.
  • The Indian Flag Code, 2002 was amended by the order dated July 19, 2022 and clause (xi) of paragraph 2.2 of Part-II of the Indian Flag Code was substituted by the following clause:- (xi) “Where the flag is displayed in the open or in the house of any public person, it may be flown day and night.”
  • The national flag will be rectangular. The flag can be of any shape but the ratio of the length and height (width) of the flag will be 3:2.
  • Whenever the national flag is hoisted, it must be placed in a position of honour and must be displayed conspicuously.
  • A damaged or frayed flag will not be displayed.
  • The flag must not be flown from the same masthead with another flag or flags.
  • The flag should not be hoisted on any vehicle other than the vehicle of dignitaries mentioned in Section IX of Part III of the Flag Code, such as the President, Vice-President, Prime Minister, Governor, etc.
  • No other flag or pennant should be placed higher than, above, or next to the National Flag.
