Under Bihar Boring & Solar Submersible Pump Yojana 2025, up to 80 percent subsidy will be given on installation of boring and solar submersible pumps. This scheme will be implemented in the financial year 2025-26 and 355 units will be installed in all the districts of the state.
This scheme is being run by the Department of Animal and Fisheries Resources (Directorate of Animal Husbandry), and its main objective is to ensure availability of water throughout the year in fish farming ponds. The objective of Bihar Boring & Solar Submersible Pump Yojana 2025 is to provide solar powered pumps to the farmers, so that there is no worry about the electricity bill. Under the scheme, people doing fish farming in ponds or puddles will now be able to supply water easily, which will increase their income. To avail the benefits of the scheme, it is necessary to have a pond with a minimum water area of 0.25 acres, and one unit can be availed on a pond of up to 2.5 acres.
